A question

Since a small portion of our student body does not speak English as its first language, it's occurred to me that there might be a way to circumvent the language-barrier, at least for short periods at a time. However, because this idea involves a direct exercise of a mutant ability I would like to sound out which of you might be open to the possibility before taking any kind of action.
*This proposition involves the use of telepathy, which for those of you unfamiliar with the term is mind-to-mind contact. Normally that is how the power presents itself. However, I would like to stress that for these purposes your innermost thoughts would not be read, nor would you be reading anyone else's. The exercise is specifically designed to pick up only those thoughts that are focused as they are spoken; one language would be heard, but you would understand it as you would your own. That's all. You wouldn't be talking directly into someone else's brain, leaking your pin number, or anything overt like that. (Nor would I be reading it. Like many telepaths, I want to delve into other people's private thoughts about as much as most people would want me there.)
*Contact would be by-arrangement only, verbal, electronic or otherwise. You will not at any time be subjected to a "surprise" link. At Xavier's use of psionics on an unconsenting party is considered extremely impolite. In some emergency situations informed consent is simply not possible, but this is not one of them. Because total-immersion is judged to be the best way to learn another language this would not be a regular occurrence with the ESL students involved, but there are some situations where the value of clear communication outweighs the learning process.
*If you agree to this exercise and then find yourself uncomfortable at any time, it can be stopped immediately. Since some of you have never had direct experience with telepathy it would be ridiculous to hold you to maintaining the contact if you give it a try and only then discover an strong aversion to it. While at some point in your academic careers students are asked to undergo such exposure to more effectively understand and guard against the power, this post concerns an attempt to facilitate ease of communication, nothing more. Causing distress for the parties involved defeats the purpose.
*I strongly suggest those of you with psionic powers of your own not attempt this exercise without the professor or an approved staff member's supervision. A brain is really not the kind of thing you want to play trial-and-error with. (Yeah, I know, that was basically "Kids, don't try this at home," but really you shouldn't.)
What I'm asking for now is only some idea of possible interest, not binding consent, you can always change your mind later as your comfort-level dictates. If you think this is something you might want to try, please reply here. If you would prefer not to, don't worry about it -- of all common mutations telepathy is arguably the most personal. It's your mind, and thus your preference.
